Charles Commissioner Collins Proposes Independent Inspector To Investigate Fraud, Abuse & Complaints

Charles County Commissioner President Reuben Collins this week described a series of reforms he will introduce including an Inspector General to investigate wrong doing on behalf of citizens, reforming the County’s fire system, and term limits. TERM LIMITS!

Retail and Residential Components Taking Shape At 150-Acre Waldorf Station

Greenberg Gibbons announced this week, their significant progress updates for the retail and residential components of Waldorf Station, using the 150-acre mixed-use destination located at the intersection of Route 301 and Route 5 in Waldorf, MD. Waldorf Station’s first retail component, featuring two buildings totaling 13,000 square feet, is expected to break ground in April. The buildings are already 50% leased with tenants including Starbucks, Honeygrow, and Pollo Campero.

Charles County Commissioners Oppose Bills Allowing Alcohol Sales In Grocery Stores

The Charles County Board of Commissioners formally opposed House Bill 1379 and Senate Bill 824 during its Feb. 25 meeting, citing concerns about the impact on small businesses and the local economy. The proposed legislation would allow grocery stores, pharmacies, and certain retail establishments to obtain Class A alcoholic beverage licenses, which are currently restricted. The board referenced a Feb. 13 public hearing held by the Charles County Board of License Commissioners, where all 52 attendees voiced opposition to the bills.
